Groundbreaking new WhatsApp game from charles x WWF
In 2023, charles' Studios team made a WhatsApp game for WWF Germany that thousands of players spend over 20 minutes with. And won a few awards along the way.
WhatsApp marketing has endless uses. As Meta brings WhatsApp for businesses to Europe, t's an exciting new frontier for advertising agencies looking to break boundaries and truly stand out. Its interactivity makes it perfect for engaging customers and the functionality of the API allows for unseen creativity. In an app that 2.7 billion of the world already use.
For climate charities, reaching people through the usual channels is becoming harder and harder. People are overwhelmed and distracted. They swipe away donation requests and news about climate issues. To combat this, in 2023, WWF Germany, with WhatsApp software partner charles, created the world's first WhatsApp roleplayer game. Not only did this game catch people's attention (particular the hard-to-reach younger audience), it kept it.
Over 20k players spent an incredible 20 minutes playing the game and engaging with the issues facing Germany's forests. Players got a taste of how it would feel to save the natural environment, and learned about bark beetles, balanced ecoystems and how to protect the natural habitats they walk in. 1 million WhatsApp messages were sent, 1 in 3 forwarded it to their friends. And now WWF has thousands of new friends on WhatsApp that it can call on whenever it needs help.
